The Holy Week Question

This Holy Week is coming upon us and I get two different messages from you sir, on Wednesday and on Sunday.  On Wednesday, I hear, "we must move away from Catholic practices, the great whore, Mother of Harlots."  Then comes Sunday and you are practicing the same things the Mother Harlot practices; this makes you in a way one of her daughters.  I do not mean that in offense; but it should be brought to your attention because it can be confusing.

The council distorted much of the pure Christianity, by introducing many pagan rites that us Christians still practice to this very day.  Such as this Holy Week

The Holy Week... let's look at this Holy Week

Matthew 21 verse 1-15 Jesus comes into Jerusalem the Jews thought they were saved now, what day was this?  The scripture does not tell us in Matthew 21; but He came in and began to teach.  If you follow it well; you'll see that He taught from chapter 21 in Matthew to chapter 26.  Look through it...

Then in Matthew 26 it says...

1And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

2Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

3Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

If you look at and read Matthew 21 Jesus got off the donkey went into the Temple (keep in mind it was after His Triumphant Entry); healed all the lame and sick folks who came to Him; and then He began to TEACH.  By the time Matthew chapter 26 rolled around, JESUS had finished all these sayings that Matthew recorded and JESUS told His followers, "Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover..."

So Ideally, what Jesus is saying is, from the time He stopped teaching, He turned to the disciples and told them that after 2 days will be the Passover and the Son of Man, Himself, will be betrayed and killed!

We do not know when He entered the city; but we do know that from the time He stopped teaching, 2 days later would be the Passover and His death.

So let's take a look at the death and see when that happened; before we can do that we have to understand who Jesus is.  In 1 Corinthians 5 verses 7 we see that even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for  us.  So Jesus is the PASSOVER.  This is why we cover ourselves with His blood so that the Father will look at us and see the blood; and PASS-OVER our sins and not condemn us to the fire.  Please deal with the capitalization of words as I want to drive home the vital points.

This looks like something done in the past... in Exodus chapter 12 we get the ordinance of the Passover.  The Passover takes place in the first month of the God's year; not January 1, which is the Roman Catholic calendar new year.  In the first month, which is usually the beginning of the spring season when things are renewed; on the 14th day of the month; is the Lord's Passover.  This was a statue to be done forever.

The original Passover the Israelites had to put the blood over their door way; in other words; they had to be covered with the blood of the Lamb, in order to avoid the plague of death angel and first born.
  The lamb representing Jesus...

In Galatians chapter 3 verses 24; we see that the old testament practices, many of them, were our school master to bring us unto Christ.  In other words, Jesus use the animal lamb to represent Him until He came because He was not going to do this, die, in every generation.  So the Lamb represented Jesus; so why is this important?

Because, Jesus was our Passover, therefore, He had to be killed on the Passover day.  We shall see if He indeed did this.

In Daniel chapter 9 verses 24 -27; an often debated few verses; but read carefully, Daniels dream is cleared and the Angel refers to Jesus, the Jews, and Jerusalem.  Read carefully, it talks about no one else... at any rate, Jesus confirms the promises He made with the fathers (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob), and He does this by being cut off in the midst or middle of the week; and we know JESUS did not die for Himself; but for us.  The middle of the week is when the Messiah (which Daniels 9 v24-27 speaks of), the Christ, the Anointed One, was cut off.

Jesus will verify this...

Matthew 12 verses 39-40

Keep in the mind the context of this conversation... the preachers and religious leaders asked Jesus for a sign to prove without a shadow of a doubt that He was indeed the Messiah/Christ/Anointed One and JESUS gave them a sign...

He said first off; evil people need a sign to believe in God... they need for God to shake the earth terribly, they need earth quakes in different places, they need to pledge money and see if God will give it back 10 fold, they can't just rely on the prayer Jesus taught saying give us THIS DAY our daily bread; they need to see someone speaking in tongues, they need to see a pastor pray for at least 4 hours before they may consider believing.

But the righteous do not need any sign at all; all we need is to read the Words of God; and we are straight or content.  At any rate; Jesus said He'll give ONE SIGN; that He is the Christ that He is the One the Father sent; and that sign is; that when He is killed; He will be in the grave or heart of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights as Jonah the prophet was in the whale 3 days and 3 nights.

So if we want to see if Jesus of the Bible is an impostor fake; all we need to do is go see when He died and when He rose.  If we get anything outside of three days and three nights; we know that He was not the Christ; but just another man claiming to be the One.

Mainstream, Roman influenced Christians say Jesus died on Good Friday and rose Sunday morning...

Dying Friday night would give you one night in Friday, one day in Saturday, two nights in Saturday night, and that is all we can get because He rose on Sunday.  That would give us 1 day and 2 nights.  Clearly showing us that the Roman Catholic Church is blatantly telling us that the Jesus of the Bible is not the Messiah.  That is why this anti-Christ will step into the Temple and claim to be Christ at the end-time.  The Romans, remember, set up the Good Friday theory...

Now let's visit it the way the Bible said it... in the midst or middle of the week.

That would be according to our modern day calendars; even the Roman ones; the middle of the week in hump day as it is popularly said in the work world.  So Jesus would have been killed on Tuesday and put in the ground by Wednesday...

Now remember God's days start at evening and ends the next evening. Keep that in mind as you view the next set of scriptures. Jesus had been betrayed by Judas the evening of the Passover. John 13 tells how Jesus and His disciples, that evening, were sharing the Passover meal. John (18:3) shows that same evening; Jesus was betrayed and taken away. It was still nighttime when they took Jesus, because the men that came and took and bound Him and they had lanterns and torches.

Jesus was crucified the next day but it was still the Passover. Comfort your mind, God's days run from sundown to sundown. Jesus had been taken into custody the night of the Passover and the next morning which is the day time of the Passover, He was condemned and crucified. The following verses demonstrate how Pilate was willing to release Jesus the morning after he had been taken in to custody. It was still the Passover. We all know the Jews refused and Jesus was crucified.

(John 18:39) But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews? (40) Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

Comfort yourself again in Mark (15:42) Joseph craved the body of Jesus the evening of the Passover ending. Now one can see that this was towards the end of the Passover.

Address the 3 Days And 3 Nights

The scriptures explain how Jesus was in the earth 3 days and 3 nights just as He had foretold.

How It Really Happened

3 Days And 3 Nights
SU M T W TH F S
Days         1  1  1
Nights    1  1  1

Essentially, JESUS was taken into custody Tuesday night; tried all night; beaten, scourged and scorned all day Wednesday for our sins, killed; and buried in the heart of the earth by sun down Wednesday night (the middle of the week).

This example will allow Him to rightfully be our Savior, our Messiah and King...

Now back to the top; if He died on a Wednesday, which was the Passover day, then two days before this was when He was teaching, would have had to be Monday; so it is quite possible that He triumphantly entered the city on the first day of the week Sunday or it could have been Monday... there is no concrete way to know for sure; the point is two days after, which lands us on Wednesday when He was killed and buried, and He rose on Saturday just before or as the sun was setting...

We can read all of the Gospels; and not ONE disciple, who were with Jesus 3.5 years, who were with Him that night of His death, mentions anything about Lent, Holy Week, Palm Sunday,  Easter, and resurrection Sunday.  None of them did... the only one to come close to mentioning Easter was Paul who did not join the apostle-ship until later... and I'm not taking credit away from Paul; but the keys of the Kingdom were left with Peter.

So this Holy week; if kept the biblical way would have began today because on Saturday evening of this week; it will be the Lord's Passover, which the Jew-ish people still keep today and if it meant anything to Christians, they would have resurrection-day 3 days and 3 nights after the Passover and not two weeks later as it is.

You see, the Romans have Easter Sunday scheduled around the Saturnalia ... based on the sun

The Easter sunrise service, that is practiced in many Christian churches, can be traced back to the ancient pagan custom of welcoming the sun god at the vernal equinox - when daytime is about to exceed the length of the nighttime. It was a time to celebrate the return of life and reproduction to animal and plant life as well. Worship of the sun god at sunrise is the religious ritual condemned by the Lord Jesus as recorded in Ezekiel 8:15-18.

So I took the time to write this because Wednesday night bible study you hold is engaging; thought provoking, the people are learning, in affect cleaning up there lives for fear of living in the last days.

The same thing would occur when you use to write your blogs; because you were reading... but to do all this good reading and teaching; then only return on Sunday to practice the vanity, paganism, and Roman worship you vehemently speak against on Wednesday confusion, at least and as a fellow man of God in Jesus name, I adjure you to think about this, really consider the matter.

Are you a pastor for notoriety, or are you doing a service for God to help Him recover lost souls?  If it is the latter like as for me, then let us bear our cross, and continue to expend the word of God together.  It may not be immediately welcomed; but as you like to say, we have to stand in the gap for the Lord sometimes.

Sure, the people may be taken back when you tell them, your church no longer has a Good Friday Service nor a Easter Sunday worship; the people may run from you, criticize you, report you, condemn you, and more.  Jesus told us to applaud any persecution we receive for His sake.  Consider this please...  it may be a slow process; but consider what the Lord has put in my heart to tell you today in this bible response.

Grace and peace in Jesus name to you.  Amen.
